Armando Palomares, Sr., passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 in Vernon, Texas. A funeral service is planned for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9 ^th at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Quanah Memorial Park.

Armando was born March 16, 1943, to Felix Palomares and Maria Rodriguez Palomares, in Mexico. He married Maria Gonzales on October 16, 1961 in Quanah. He was a former employee of the City of Quanah in the sanitation department.

Survivors include 2 sons, Armando Palomares, Jr., and Alexander Palomares; 3 daughters, Belinda Heidelberg, Diana Palomares, and Tracy Palomares; 18 grandchildren, Sean Palomares, Billy Joe Heidelberg, Jr., Reva Medina, Gina Medina, Adam Medina, Amanda Medina, Austin Olguin, Breanna Olguin, Savannah Olguin, Andrea Palomares, Alex Palomares, Jr., Destiny Palomares, Tony Palomares, Joel Padilla, Xavier Padilla, Marissa Palomares, Julianna Palomares, Janessa Palomares; and many wonderful great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Maria Esther Sanchez; and 2 grandsons, Richard Heidelberg and J.J. Medina, Jr.
