Arthur "Glenn" Calvin died on January 31, 2023, in an auto accident in west Texas as he was travelling to his job at a gas plant in Denver City, Texas.

Glenn was born on May 8, 1953.  He was preceded by his parents Arthur Lewis and Virginia Lytle Calvin, and a daughter, Stacy Lenee Calvin.  He is survived by his wife, Lila Beyers Calvin, a sister, Lenora Calvin Wilkins of Wichita Falls; two children, Derek Calvin and Brandi Nicole "Nicki" Calvin of Quanah; step-daughter, Jamie Hope of Quanah; step-children, Thomas and Evan Horton of Quanah, Matt Horton of Plainview, Amber Roark-Steen of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Terry Davis of Sweetwater, Texas, Crystal and Amber Sanders of Midland, Texas; 13 grandsons, 9 granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons.

Glenn graduated from Quanah High School in 1971.  After graduation he was employed by the Quanah Tribune Chief as a printer and helped coach youth league athletics and was a cub scout leader until he moved to Wichita Falls, Texas.  There he worked as a printer and played on a semi-pro football team before moving to the Odessa, Texas area.  There he spent almost 40 years working as a gas plant operator.

After moving to the Odessa area, he became a paramedic and worked as a Volunteer Paramedic/Firefighter for the Crane VFD for more than 20 years.  He also remained active in sports leagues, playing softball and baseball.  He was a member of the First Christian Church in Quanah.

Glenn was best known for his enthusiastic involvement in the youth athletic leagues in which his grandsons were involved.  He was Pawpaw, not only to his own grandchildren, but to the many kids who have gone to school in Quanah, attending Cross Country Meets, Track Meets, Golf tournaments, football, basketball and baseball games. He was a proud Pawpaw of them all.  He was always the loudest fan in attendance.  Glenn's happiest times were in the role of Dad and Pawpaw.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Christian Church Mission Trip fund.  He was looking forward to a mission trip to Bear Branch, Kentucky in the summer of 2023.
