Barbara Gwen Gilliam, age 64, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 20 ^th at the First United Methodist Church in Quanah, with the Reverend Monte Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Barbara was born in Chillicothe, Texas to Sterling and Gwendolyn Clark on August 16, 1956. She as a lifelong resident of Quanah.  She graduated Quanah High School, attended Cisco Junior College as a Cisco Wrangler Belle, attended Tarleton State University, and was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church.  She married Teddy Gilliam on February 21, 1975.

A stay-at-home mother, she loved yard work, cooking for loved ones, helping with the family ranch and caring for the cattle. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  Barbara's world was centered around her family, and she was especially proud of her 11 grandchildren.  It was extremely rare for her to miss any event in which her kids and grandkids were involved.  She was a room mother, active in vacation bible school, a 4-H leader, and a stock show mom.

She was preceded in death by her mother Gwen Clark.  She is survived by her husband Teddy, her father Sterling Clark, 5 children, Justin Gilliam and wife Sallie of Quanah, Joe Gilliam and wife Cari of Princeton, Texas, Garrett Gilliam and wife Whitney of Dalhart, Texas, Kati Sherman and husband Ben of Quanah, Kyle Gilliam and wife Elissa of Washington D.C., a brother, Roddy Clark of Chillicothe, and 11 grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to Hardeman County 4-H or the First United Methodist Church.
