Bettie Jo Mullins passed away early Monday morning, October 9, 2023 in Granbury, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 11th at Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Monte Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bettie Jo Carroll was born December 9, 1932 in Taylor, Mississippi to Elmer Carroll and Rosa Lee McCain. She married Billy Mullins on June 6, 1954 in Quanah, where they made their home and raised their daughter. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Quanah. Bettie Jo worked as a nurse at Hardeman County Memorial Hospital. She was a beloved "Nanny" whose family, kids, and grandkids were her whole world.

Survivors include her daughter, Becky Nieves of Granbury; grandchildren, Alison Martinez, and husband Cojack, of Dublin, Angie Henson, and husband Corey, of Greenville, Adam Lamb, and wife Ashley, of Poteet, Illinois; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, Bobby Carrol of Quanah, and Earl Carroll of Killeen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Mullins, in July of 2014.

The family requests memorials be made to Concho Heart Hospice or The Oaks of Granbury.
