Billy Joe Naron, 85, formerly of Quanah, passed away Tuesday morning, July 9, 2019 in Wichita Falls.

A funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Quanah. Rev. Monte Lumpkin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until service time at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Bill was born November 17, 1933 in Crowell, Texas to Guy and Florence (Pierce) Naron. He married Charlotte Lance on October 4, 1968 in Altus, Oklahoma.  Bill spent 4 years serving his country in the U.S. Navy as an electrician.  He retired from WTU as supervisor of the Lake Pauline Power Plant. Bill was a member of Club Director for the Quanah Riding Club; he was also a member of the Quanah Church of Christ.

Bill is survived by his wife, Charlotte Naron of Wichita Falls; one son, Todd Carroll of Burkburnett; one daughter, Teresa Martin of Vernon; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Trent Naron, in November 2005.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
