Caren Riley, age 71 of Quanah, passed away on Sunday evening, July 7, 2019, in Electra.

A funeral service is planned for 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Church of Christ in Quanah. Mr. Albert Motsenbocker will officiate.  Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Caren Jayne Hurt was born November 1, 1947 in Ft. Worth, Texas, to Charles and Robbie (Owen) Hurt. She married Rickey Riley on January 20, 1968 in Chillicothe, Texas.  She had lived in Quanah most of her life, and was a retired teacher from Quanah ISD.

She is survived by a daughter: Tori Riley of Quanah; 2 sons: Ric Riley and Rob Riley of Quanah; 1 sister: Carol Johnson of Shallowater, Texas; 7 grandchildren: Fara Garza, Charlsi Bozeman, Carlin Brawley, Alyssa Riley, Ella Riley, Creek Riley, and Ryver Riley; 5 great grandchildren: Michael Garza, Tristen Garza, Leah Bozeman, Kimber Garcia, and Payton Bozeman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rickey Riley, on November 4, 1990.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Quanah Church of Christ or Tipton Home.
