Chester Ingram, 89, of Quanah, passed away at this home on Monday morning, November 2, 2020. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5 ^th at the First Baptist Church. Dr. David Smith will officiate.  Interment will follow at Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado, Oklahoma.

Chester Leven Ingram was born north of Chillicothe, Texas on October 7, 1931, to Lester and Ina (Norris) Ingram. He was resident of Hardeman County most of his life, and served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict.  Chester served on many civic organizations, including the Jaycees, Lions Club, Quanah Riding Club, he was a longtime Boy Scout leader, and the founder of the Quanah Boys Club.  He also served the citizens of Quanah as Mayor, and the citizens of Hardeman County as Sheriff. Chester was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include 9 children: Glen Ingram, Ronnie Ingram, Diane Holt, Suzanne Dodd, Loretta Trammell, Chet Ingram, Shelli Ray, Gary Ingram, and Jennifer Thomas; a twin sister, Junita Kasper; and a brother, Jerry Ingram; 19 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lou Ann Hinton; and a brother, Kenneth Ingram.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Quanah Senior Citizens or the Quanah Boy Scouts Troop.
