Obituary

Christopher (Chris) Medina passed away on December 27, 2017, in Oklahoma City. Chris was born to the late Eufemia (Virginia) Medina and Ignacio Medina on December 16, 1964, in Hardeman County, Quanah, TX.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shana Medina; a sister, Sherry Rios; 2 nephews, Juan J. Rios, Jr., and J.J. Medina; a niece, Amy Culwell; his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandparents.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Gwendolyn Medina of Longmont, CO, Tanya Darden of Gould, OK, and Tellie Darden and son-in-law, Bryan Shuler of Altus, OK; 3 sons, Cody and daughter-in-law Leeann Shuler-Medina, Justin and daughter-in-law Tristen Medina of Eldorado, OK, and Shane Medina of Altus, OK.

He is also survived by 3 brothers, Noch Medina of Mangum, OK, Juan J. Medina of Quanah, and Mario Medina of Goodlett; 4 sisters, Janie Railsback and Kay Brachwitz of Seymour, Pauline Mobley of Quanah, and Frances Medina-Thomas of Childress; 13 grandchildren and numerous extended family.

Chris was owner-operator of Medina and Sons Roofing and Construction.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family, and being in the outdoors.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Quanah.  Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., January 4, 2018, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Hardeman County Livestock Show, P.O. Box 179, Quanah, Texas 79252.
