Coney (C.R.) Finley, 90, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 in Quanah.  A funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Quanah. Dr. David Smith and Rev. Monte Lumpkin will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Goodlett Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday evening, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Coney Ray Finley was born November 27, 1931 at home in Goodlett, Texas to the late James Marion Finley and Iva Grace Howard Finley. He married Anita Frances Tabor on December 1, 1949 at the Tabor home near Goodlett, and together they raised 7 children. C.R. was a retired farmer and rancher; welder; water well driller; and machinist. He was a big family man who is described as very open hearted and could always be counted on to help friends and family. He also enjoyed baseball and big family gatherings.

Survivors include his brother: Everett (E.K.); 6 of his children: Lynn Finley Greenwood and husband Mike, Kay Finley Mahan, Ann Finley Bryant, Jim Finley, David Finley, and Dan Finley and wife Doris; grandchildren: Randi Mahan Oldham and husband Adrian, Jan Bryant Braziel and husband Mike, Carole Bryant Cearley and husband Jon, Michael Finley and wife Kathy, Anthony Finley and wife Stacie, David Finley, Jr., Tonya Finley Lopez and husband Benny, Dustin Finley and wife Allegra, Nicole Ferrufino and husband Paul, Donna Day and husband John, Stephanie Minze, and Charlsie Brown and husband Daniel; great grandchildren: Jared Braziel, John Michael Braziel, Liam Cearley, Michael Finley, Jr., Christian Finley, Sean Finley, Brennan Finley, Decklyn Finley, Axtyn Finley, Rylee Finley, Kaydence Finley, Camden Finley, Kaisen Finley, Landon Finley, Aubrianna Finley, Madison Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Carson Lopez, Benny Lopez, Jr., Yasmine Finley, Aislinn Finley, Kayelin Finley, Brayden Finley, Kaysen Finley, Pablo Ferrufino, Isabela Ferrufino, Joel Ferrufino, Sara Ferrufino, Gabriel Ferrufino, Anita Ferrufino, Alyssa Riley, Tiffany Clary, Justin Zwierchawski, Ayden Garza, Chassey Petty, and Josh Bartley; great great grandchildren: Julia Braziel, Matthew Braziel, Jarrhett Lopez, Cooper Bartley, and Joshua Rayden Bartley.

Coney was preceded in death by his parents, Iva Grace Howard and James Marion Finley; his wife, Anita Frances Tabor Finley; a daughter, Amy Grace Finley; siblings Bertrom Finley, Denver Finley Wilson, Irelan Finley, Lee Finley, and Coy Finley; and granddaughter, Melissa Bartley.
