Obituary

Debra Helen Faris, Age 66, of Vernon, TX, died at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2020. She was hospitalized in United Regional of Wichita Falls, TX, for complications of COPD. She fought a courageous battle against that debilitating lung disease. Debra was born in Amarillo, TX, January 14, 1954, to Betty Norene Huffhines Combs and R. D. Combs. She attended schools in Eldordo, OK, and Quanah, TX, graduating from Quanah High School in 1972. She worked in the medical lab and x-ray field all her career. She loved helping people. Her hobbies included flower gardening, antiques, and photography which were her passions. She loved her family unconditionally and adored her grandchildren. She is survived by Son, Richard Hamilton Clarkson, II (Ric), wife Calli Akers Clarkson, grandsons, Trace and Crue of Aledo, Tx; daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Haynes of Chillicothe, Tx; and daughter, Katie Jo Haynes, grandson, Kaden Hall and granddaughter, Leeana Hall of Vernon, Tx. She is survived by sisters, Vickie Combs White, husband Bill, and Jan Combs Melton Parker, husband Randel, of Quanah, and by a brother, Edward Combs of Olney, Tx; and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. Her family will abide by her wishes of cremation and memorial in Matagorda, TX, at the beach she loved to visit at a future date.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Quanah Historical Museum in Debbie's memory.
