Diane Waldo passed away Thursday morning, August 22, 2024 in Oklahoma City. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 28th at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Diane Drake was born November 30, 1943 to J. D. and Joyce (White) Drake in Quanah, Texas. She married Boyd Waldo, August 21, 1982. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Diane had a great sense of humor and made a lot of good friends. She worked as a nurse for approximately 15 years, owned and operated Diane's Ready to Wear Dress Shop, and worked at the Co-Op.

She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Sparkman of Quanah; grandchildren, Justin Caldwell (serving in the USAF) of Wichita Falls, Brett Sparkman, and Tracy of Quanah, Joshua Short, and Ivy of North Carolina, and Zachary Short of North Carolina. She was preceded by one son, Christopher Caldwell.

The family suggests memorials be made to First Methodist Church, PO Box 397, Quanah, Texas 79252, where Diane was a member.
