Doris Elizabeth Finley, 73, of Quanah, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Quanah. Born October 9, 1951, in Fairfield, Texas, to Doris Earl Willard and Richard Crosby, Doris lived a life rich in love, family, and cherished memories.
Her life was a testament to her devotion to family. She married Dan Finley on August 22, 2016, creating a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose boundless kindness and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone she knew. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Preceding Doris in death were her daughter, Melissa Armstrong Tate; her mother, Doris Earl Willard; her father, Richard Crosby; and her brother, Randy Crosby.
Doris leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will endure for generations. She is survived by her three children: Stephanie Minze of Fairfield, Texas; Donna Day and her husband John of Fairfield, Texas; and Charlsie Brown and her husband Daniel of Vernon, Texas. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Chassey Petty of Fairfield; Justin Zwierzchowski and his wife Macy of Teague, Texas; Tiffany Clary and her husband Clifton of Gatesville, Texas; Joshua Bartley and Aubrey of Quanah, Texas; and Alyssa Riley and Dandres of Vernon, Texas; Ayden Garza of Vernon, Texas; and Jacob Day and his wife Jenna Day of Fairfield, Texas. Her great-grandchildren, Alaina Baker, Tripp Petty, and Riley Zwierzchowski of Fairfield, Texas; Cullen, Sage, and Sterling Clary of Gatesville, Texas; Kooper, Joshua Rayden, and Rine Cashe of Quanah, Texas; and Kieran Xavier Austin of Vernon, Texas; Rustyn and Kelbeigh of Fairfield, Texas, brought her immense joy. Doris also cherished her step-children, Nicole Ferrufino and Paul of Dallas, Texas and their children Pablo, Isabela, Joel, Sara, Gabriel, Anna, Nicolas; and Dustin Finley and his wife Alegra, and their children: Yasmine, Aislinn, Kayelin, Brayden, and Kaysen, as her own.
She is further survived by her sister Theresa May and husband Paul of Fairfield, Texas; brother Joe Vaclavik and wife Julie of Fairfield, Texas; sister Melva Ludge; brother Richard Jay Crosby and wife Barbara of Tennessee; and brother Robert Crosby of Michigan.
Doris was a remarkable woman whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Her memory will be a source of comfort and strength for her family and friends in the years to come. She will be deeply and dearly missed.
