Obituary

Douglas Paul Cearley, 48, of Azle, Texas, passed away Tuesday evening, January 20, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st, at First Baptist Church in Quanah.

Doug was born on October 13, 1977, in Memphis, Texas, to Danny Ray and Vickie Jean (Rine) Cearley. He attended school in the Quanah Independent School District and later built a career as a metal fabricator and estimator with C&F Steel in Springtown.

A true outdoorsman, Doug found joy in fishing, camping, and hunting. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and his beloved dogs. His love for family and the outdoors shaped the way he lived and the memories he leaves behind.

Doug is survived by his longtime best friend, Krysti Cockerell of Newark, Texas; his son, Hunter Cearley of Azle; and his daughters, Paije Satterfield (Steven) of Anderson, Missouri, Aubrey Bartley (Joshua) of Quanah, and Prestyn Cearley of Newark, Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Greg Cearley of Amarillo; his sister, Kim McGregor (Thomas) of Quanah; and his three grandchildren, Rayden, Wyatt, and Rine. Doug leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nieces-in-law, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandmother, Pauline Jones; maternal grandparents, Jackie and Doris Rine; and his uncle, James Richard Rine.
