Eddie Evelyn Rector, 82, of Quanah, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2018 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Monte Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park.

Eddie was born August 23, 1936 in Quanah, Texas, to Samuel Edward and Maude Cecile (Raby) Gresham. She married Roy Rector on August 29, 1980, in Vernon, Texas.

She worked in nursing, with home health, for many years. She was a member of the Quanah Episcopal Church, and Calvary Baptist Church in Vernon.

Eddie is survived by 4 daughters: Sherry Wathen of Blair, Oklahoma, Charlotte McClure of Canton, Missouri, Susan McCue of Altus, Oklahoma, and Cindy Perez of North Port, Florida; 2 sisters: Bettie Thompson of Vernon,  Dorothy Baker of Livingston, Texas; stepson: Steven Rector, of Wichita Falls, Texas; stepdaughter: Julie Zampanti of Paige, Texas; 9 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

Her husband, Roy, and a grandson, preceded her in death.
