Edia Bell McNutt Bland passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 in Levelland, Texas. She was 97. A graveside funeral service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 3rd at Quanah Memorial Park.  Rev. Monte Lumpkin will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Sunday, August 2nd at Smith Funeral Home.

Edia was born in Quanah, Texas on February 5, 1923 to William "Floyd" McNutt and Willie Bell (Hackney) McNutt. She graduated from Quanah High School in 1941. She met and married Everett A. Bland in Childress, Texas on September 12, 1943, where they lived and started their family adding Karen "Mickie" and Michael. In 1951 they moved to Quanah where Everett was a home builder. They grew their family to a family of six with the birth of Mark and Kathy, they were members of the First Baptist Church. In 1964 the family moved to Amarillo, Texas. Everett pre-deceased her in 1971.

Edia Bell continued to work and live in Amarillo and raise her younger children and later gaining grandchildren. She moved to Levelland several years ago where she lived in assisted living near family.

Edia Bell's parents, brother Neil, son in law Winston Wilson and daughter in law Sharon Bland passed away before her. She is survived by her sister Bobbie Hobby of Wichita Falls; children, Mickie Wilson of Fairview, Texas, Michael Bland of Amarillo, Mark Bland of Garland and Kathy Jack (Kent) of Friona. Her nine grandchildren Machelle Davenport (Rodney), Missy Wilson, Robin Hines (Randy), Amanda Bland, Molly Bell (Jeromy), Lindsey Bland, Toby Jack (Beth), Katie Gilley (Darrin), Kristie Moore (Derek). Thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
