Edna Betts passed away Saturday morning, December 10, 2022, at her home in Quanah. A funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 14 ^th at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under direction of Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 -7 p.m., Tuesday evening at Smith Funeral Home.

Edna Marilyn Williams was born February 8, 1938, to Daniel Price and Florence Virginia (Wilson) Williams in Albany, TX. She was a graduate of Seymour High School in 1956 and married GL Betts on August 7, 1955. She worked at United Supermarkets and was the owner of Edna's Chat-N-Chew restaurant in Quanah. Edna was actively involved in her church, First Baptist Church of Quanah, planning meals for Vacation Bible School, coordinator of the sack lunches during the summers, and served on the grievance committee. Her blanket with her name on it saved her spot in the same pew every Sunday.  She also served as a Democratic Party judge. Besides her husband and family, she loved her dogs and going camping.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, GL Betts. Three sons, Don Betts and wife Patsy of Wichita Falls, Gaylon Betts and wife Tracy of Quanah, Todd Betts and wife Randa of Olney; and daughter in law, Nancy Betts of Cleburne. One sister, Gina Greenhaw and husband Melvin of Olney. Eleven grandchildren, Debra Crawford, Amy Maldonado, Brandin Betts (Angie), Kristin Johnson (Cody), Alicia Shanks (Michael), Candice Darnell (Kirk), Jay D. Ray (Amanda), Lauren Roach (Richard), Kade Betts (Alyssa), Halli Mankins (Reed), and Garrett Betts (Michele) and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, DP & Florence Williams; one sister, Patricia Young; one son, Randy Betts; one great-grandson, Austin Hawkins; and four great-granddaughters.
