Errol Leon
Simpson
Oct 24, 1940 — Apr 5, 2025
Quanah
Errol Leon Simpson passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15th, at First Baptist Church in Quanah. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Errol was born on October 24, 1940, in Loma Linda, California, to Warner and Fyrnie Lungenbeel Simpson. He was lovingly raised in part by his grandparents, Herbert and Lucy Lungenbeel.
A dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Errol operated the camera for the live streaming of services. He was also an active member of the Quanah Lions Club and proudly served on the Quanah Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. Professionally, he worked for Lone Star Gas, where he held the position of Regional Manager.
Errol had a passion for adventure—he was an avid pilot and motorcyclist, having ridden his motorcycle through every contiguous state. He lived by the motto of working hard and playing hard, embracing life with enthusiasm and dedication.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Simpson of Quanah; son, Scott Simpson of Quanah; brother, Ken Simpson of Burkburnett; grandchildren, Dylon Simpson and Amanda of Burkburnett; and great-granddaughter, Amya Simpson of Burkburnett.
The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Sack Lunch Ministry.
