Obituary

Harry Poole passed away Friday, December 23rd at his home in Hardeman County. A funeral service is planned for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 28th at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Goodlett Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday evening at Smith Funeral Home.

Everett Harry Poole Jr. was born in Hardeman County on June 5 th , 1947 to his father and namesake, Everett Harry Poole Sr., and mother Jesse Frances (Scott) Poole.

He graduated from Quanah High School in 1965 and lived and worked in Hardeman County his entire life.  Harry was a farmer and rancher who loved to fish; and was an excellent marksman, rarely missing his target.  He enjoyed visiting swap meets and flea markets.  He loved collecting regional artifacts and maintained extensive collections.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law Gene and Rita Woodside.

Harry is survived by his sons Jeremy and Jason, Jason's wife Anna, and their two children, Jack and Millie.  He is also survived by his baby sister, Kaye, and beloved niece Shelly Hutchison, her husband Shannon, and their two girls, Lauren and Tatum.

The family suggests memorials be made to Quanah Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 492, Quanah, Texas 79252 or the local food bank.
