Gerald Wesley Jackson, 69, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 27, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A funeral service is planned for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park.

Gerald was born February 9, 1956, in Quanah, Texas, to Claudia Mae Jackson and Theopres Jackson. He married Dorothy Watkins on November 11, 1977, in Quanah, Texas. Together, they raised three children.

Gerald was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He retired after 27 years of service from the State Hospital in Vernon.

He is survived by his son, Germont Jackson and wife DeAnna of Cibolo, Texas; two daughters, Tricia Jackson and Kimberly Jackson, both of Quanah; brothers, Larry Jackson and wife Louise of Quanah, Virgil Claudrick and wife Eugenia of Amarillo, Bobby Thomas and Gene Edwards Thomas of Vernon; sisters, Norma Gene Woods of Amarillo and Tricia Faye Debose of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren, Christian, Jada, Brooklyn, Jaiden, Jordan, Jaise, Sydni, and Liam Jackson; and one great-grandchild, Crew Jackson.
