Gerry Knox, age 87, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024. A memorial service is planned for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the First Methodist Church in Quanah. Mr. Kirby Kelly will officiate.

Gerry Thomas Knox was born February 25, 1937, in Crowell, Texas to Gerald and Mary Edna (Bursey) Knox. He attended Paris Junior College, where he played college football. He married Carolyn Sue Meason in Crowell, December 22, 1956. They were married 65 years prior to Sue's passing in 2021. Gerry worked for the Quanah Cotton Oil Company for approximately 15 years, and was a retired banker, working for 35 years at Security National Bank in Quanah. He was also an avid horseman.

Survivors include his children, Gary Knox and wife Rhonda of Vernon, Stacy Halford and husband Dan of Vernon, Molly Choat and husband Zachary of Georgetown; grandchildren, Kari Jo Ramsey and husband Rick of Vernon, Randilyn Mayo and husband Nathan of Vernon, Brian Knox and Reyna of Quanah, Zane Choat of Austin, Brady Jump and Madison of Vernon, and Lindy Choat of Copperas Cove; 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Bettie Knox Bell of Crowell. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister, Gail Brian.
