Guy Smith, 64, of Quanah, died Monday, September 17, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Quanah, under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Guy Matthew Smith was born June 30, 1954 in Levelland, Texas, to Richard and Doris (Swain) Smith. He and Dianna Trimble were married in Lubbock, Texas, on May 27, 1989.

Guy was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He later obtained an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, and was employed by the city of Quanah as Chief of Police in 1992. In 2003, he became the Municipal Judge.  Until recent years, he was also a crossing guard for school children as they walked across Main Street.

Guy is survived by his wife, Dianna; 2 sons, Benjamin Smith, of Quanah, and Steve Smith, of Kuwait; a brother, Paul Smith; cousins, Frank Swain, Doris Jean Wheeler, Jerry Bob Swain, and Richard Swain; sisters and brothers in law, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be fondly remembered by all.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dylan Smith.
