Helen Gerred, 87 of Quanah, passed away early Sunday morning, May 14 ^th , 2023 in Oklahoma City. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20 ^th at First Baptist Church in Quanah with Dr. David Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park.

Helen Ann Bryant was born December 18, 1935 to Jewel and Ruby Faye Hodges Bryant at their home north of Goodlett. She married Dale Wayne Gerred, March 19, 1955, and together they raised three children. She was a beloved member of the First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Quanah Airport Board, Texas Municipal Court Association, and National Letter Carriers Association. Prior to retirement she worked as a Hardeman County Deputy Sheriff, Deputy County Clerk, the Quanah Municipal Judge, for the U.S. Postal Service, Price Jackson Funeral Home and Smith Funeral Home.

Helen is survived by her husband, Dale, of Quanah; son, Barry Gerred of Altus; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Kamper, Christopher Gerred, and Jason Gerred; 4 great grandchildren, Leah, Cade, Hayden, and Harley. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Gerred, and son, Edward Gerred.

The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church or Thompson-Sawyer Library.
