Obituary

Jackie Gene Rine, 93, passed away Thursday morning, December 26, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at First Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Quanah Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Sunday evening, December 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home.

Jackie was born on May 15, 1931, in Acme, Texas, to Guy Dewey Rine and Leola Jane McCain Rine. He married Doris Whitfield in February 1950, and they made their home in Quanah. Jackie was a dedicated electrician for over 65 years and was employed at Georgia Pacific.

He was a man who enjoyed many things, including fishing, traveling, and football. Jackie was particularly renowned for his delicious coconut cream pies and his famous stink bait. A lifelong Baptist, he cherished his faith and community.

Jackie is survived by his son, James Rine, and wife Billie of Quanah; his grandchildren, Nicole Garcia and husband Ben, Dena Creel and husband John, Greg and Douglas Cearley, and Kim McGregor and husband Thomas; his brother, James B. Rine of Quanah; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris; his parents, Guy and Leola Rine; his son, Jackie Guy Rine; his daughters, Dena Mae and Vickie Gene; his brothers, Donnie Ray Rine and Bobby Wayne Rine; and his sister, Joyce Maxine Mitchell.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
