James Able passed away at his home in Quanah Saturday, January 13, 2024.

James Clifford Able was born November 16, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas to J.C. and Marion Joyce (Roth) Able. James married Dora Trevino on September 22, 2020 in Quanah. He retired from the railroad and had worked as a police officer in Brazoria County.  He is lovingly described as a good man who served his church and community and would gladly give the shirt off his back.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Able, of Quanah; son, Reji Valadez and wife Brittany, of Quanah; daughters, Hilary Ligons of New Mexico, and Jessica Pena of Harlingen, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
