James Richard Rine, 65, of Quanah, Texas, passed away at his home on Monday, May 19, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22nd at Goodlett Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Goodlett Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

James was born on November 17, 1959, in Quanah to Jackie Gene Rine and Doris Whitfield Rine. On June 9, 1979, he married the love of his life, Billie Holocker. Together, they raised two daughters in Quanah and built a life full of love, faith, and family.

A talented metal fabricator, James owned and operated Red River Sheet Metal until his retirement. Known for his integrity and skill, he could fix just about anything and was deeply respected by his customers and community. He was a hard worker, a man of faith, and a devoted deacon at Goodlett Baptist Church. James was known for his love of fishing, his unwavering kindness, and most of all, his love for his family—especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Billie Rine of Quanah; daughters, Dena Faye Creel and husband John of Merkel, and Nicole Garcia and husband Ben of Vernon; seven grandchildren, Faith, Gabriel, Nicholas, Abigail, John, Leon, and Kai; and great-grandchildren Addison, Evelynn, and one on the way, Sonora. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Goodlett Cemetery or Goodlett Baptist Church.

James will be remembered for his generous spirit, strong faith, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
