Janea Laura Viruegas, 47, of Henrietta, Texas, passed away May 12, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas. The family will hold a private service at a later date.

Janea was born in Denver, Colorado, and later moved to Quanah, Texas, at the age of 16. She attended Quanah High School and made Quanah her home until 2021.

She loved listening to gospel music and enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley. Above all, she loved her family deeply, especially her daughters and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Acardio Viruegas, whom she married in 1998; two daughters, Erica Viruegas and husband Juan Teran of Odell, Texas, and Emily Viruegas of Vernon, Texas; and three grandchildren, Jayden Teran, Mariela Teran, and Jacob Lopez.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cecilia Lee Basye; her father, Dale Neilson; and her grandmother, Joyce Irene Medford Baker.
