Janet Sue Spangler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, January 24, 2025, in Quanah, Texas. She was 74 years old.
A memorial service to celebrate Janet's life will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
Janet was born on September 22, 1950, in Quanah, Texas, to Joe and Mildred (Lowry) Poole. On May 26, 1970, she married the love of her life, John Spangler, in Manhattan, Kansas. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and faith.
A dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church, Janet was known for her unwavering devotion to her faith and her family. She was a caregiver, a peacemaker, and a true friend to many, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Janet's legacy lives on through her family, including her husband, John Spangler of Quanah; her sons, Robert Spangler (and wife Terri) of Quanah, Steven Spangler (and wife Monica) of San Antonio, and Matthew Spangler (and wife Alyssa) of Quanah; her cherished grandchildren, Destiny, Brittany, RJ, Kendra, Kayla, Kylee, Diamond, Blayke, Skylar, Gracelyn, and Emilie; and her great-grandchildren, Kenlee, Kayson, Liam, Kori, and Stiles. She is also survived by her three sisters, Sharon Carroll, Delores Smith, and JoAnn Lane.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mildred Poole.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Janet's honor.
