Obituary

Jay O'Dell Webb, of Lawton, Oklahoma, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

O'Dell was born on August 3, 1948, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico to Virgil William and Ida Leola Webb. He graduated High School from Gruver, Texas in 1967. Following graduation, he enlisted with the United States Navy in 1969, where he proudly served in Vietnam as a Navy Seabee. He was released from active duty in 1971, and he transferred to the Naval Reserve until 1975. While still serving his country, he moved to Farmington, New Mexico, where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Tharp on December 23, 1973.

Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly as a welder, he spent many hours in the oilfield, he became a certified Gunsmith and even owned his own gun shop in Amarillo. He owned and operated his own Semi truck and traveled the country working for his family. He retired as a Directional Driller in the Oilfield. Several years later, he moved to the Lawton Fort Sill Veterans Center.

O'Dell loved anything involving his family, especially being present at the sporting events of his grandchildren and spoiling them every chance that he had.

O'Dell is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara Webb, sisters: Arlene, Margaret, Erma, and brothers: Olan, Buddy, Marvin, and Orval.

Survivors include a brother; Leroy Webb and two sisters; Linda Archer and Freda Briscoe. Surviving children include Sherri Lynn Oseletto and husband Ronnie of Quanah; Jasonlee O'Dell Webb and wife Valarie of Quanah; Stacy Renee Howes and husband Rusty of Panhandle; Shayla Elizabeth Morris and husband Jimmy Don Morris of Azle. O'Dell was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Zachary and Zane Oseletto, Jaxson Webb, Ryan and Jared Howes, Brendan Webb and Jayleigh and Graysen Morris.
