Jimmie Naron, 92, of Quanah, passed away Monday afternoon, June 21, 2021. A funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 25 th , at the First Assembly of God Church in Quanah. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Thursday evening at Smith Funeral Home.
Jimmie Junior Naron was born April 2, 1929 in Foard County, Texas, to the late James William and Myrtle Jemima Simmons Naron. He was a resident of Crowell and Quanah all of his life. He retired as an electrician with West Texas Utilities after 45 years. Jimmie and Geneva (Gene) Jones were married in Crowell, Texas on November 18, 1951. Together they raised two children. Jimmie was a member of the First Assembly of God Church; he loved fishing, farming, raising orphan calves, welding, carving, and playing the harmonica.
Survivors include his wife, Gene Naron of Quanah; a son, Pastor James Naron of Colorado City, Colorado; a daughter, Charyl Naron of Austin, Texas; an "adopted" daughter, Josie Bermudez King; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the First Assembly of God Church, 807 Dubose, Quanah, Texas 79252.
