John Cunningham, 60, of Quanah, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 16, 2019.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 28 ^th at the First Baptist Church in Quanah.

John William Cunningham, Jr., was born January 14, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas to John William and Martha Ella (Sheehan) Cunningham. He married Cordie Ballard in Plainview, Texas on June 25, 1993.

John served as a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church and also conducted AA meetings there. He was employed at Georgia Pacific for 23 years, followed by Farm Rail in Clinton, Oklahoma.  His gift to other people included being an organ donor after death, with the ability to help 50 other people.

He is survived by his wife Cordie; a son, John William Cunningham, III of Stewartville, MN; a daughter, Crystal Dawn Cunningham of Childress; a step son, Steven Lee Carmichael, Jr., of Childress; one brother, Larry R. Daves of Cokedale, CO; he raised two granddaughters, Elizabeth Carmichael and Alyssa Carmichael, and a grandson, Joseph Carmichael; 20 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amber Beth Cunningham and grandson, Jose on January 29, 2016.

A private memorial service for family will be held Thursday, June 20 ^th at Bethel Baptist Church.
