Johnnie Wade, Sr., passed away Sunday evening, April 30, 2023 in Crowell. A memorial service is planned for 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 5 ^th at First Methodist Church in Quanah with Rev. Matt Brown officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church until 2:30 p.m.

Johnnie Franklin Wade was born March 11, 1938 in Acme, Texas to Luther Franklin and Ethel (Horn) Wade. He married Shirley McClery on December 20, 1958 in Quanah. They raised 3 children together. Johnnie was an insurance agent; and a member of the First Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Wade of Quanah; children, Johnnie Wade, Jr. of Quanah, Kevin Wade and wife Ann of Amarillo, Tracy Betts and husband Gaylon of Quanah; grandchildren, Josh Wade and wife Jennifer, Jonna Parr and husband Jonathan, Jonathon Wade, Hayden Wade, Whitney Walker and husband Dillon, Candice Darnell and husband Kirk, Lauren Roach and husband Richard, Garrett Betts and wife Michelle; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Wade, brothers, Steve, Charles, and Blackie Wade, and 2 great grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to First Methodist Church or Quanah Senior Citizens Center.
