Joseph Lloyd "Jodie" Lemon passed away Tuesday morning, May 12, 2020 in Quanah. A graveside service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Wilbarger Memorial Park in Vernon. Rev. Wayne Hollinshead will officiate. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home Chapel from 6-7 Wednesday evening, May 13 ^th .

Jodie was born January 1, 1930, in Wilbarger County, to Roy L and Ruby (Houchins) Lemon. He had been a resident of Quanah since 1960. Jodie married Betty Williams on January 26, 1950 in Elliott, Texas. Together they raised two daughters. Betty preceded him in death on January 6, 1999. Later, his companion was Edna McNabb Owens. She passed away in May of 2013. Jodie retired from the Auto Paint & Body business. He enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing and dancing. He was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Ashcraft of Quanah and Shelly Garza of Higgins; step daughters, Sherry Johnson of Vernon, June Moore of Wichita Falls, and Georgia Mackey of Midland; 3 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to First Christian Church, P.O. Box 356, Quanah, Texas 79252.
