Joyce Milligan, 87, of Quanah, passed away Tuesday evening, January 5, 2021.  A graveside service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at Quanah Memorial Park. Mr. Albert Motsenbocker will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m., Thursday evening, at Smith Funeral Home.

Joyce Marie Askew was born September 2, 1933 to Winfred and Lydia (Pilcher) Askew. She married Harlon Lee Milligan on October 2, 1948, and had lived in Quanah since that time. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and a member of the Ladies Bible Class.  Joyce was a retired nurse and an avid reader.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Carol McGuire and Charlotte Folmar, both of Quanah; a son, David Milligan of Wetumpka, Alabama; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; one daughter, Pam Lambert; and one sister, Mattie Lou Askew.

The family suggests memorials be made to Westview Boys Home.
