Joyce (Dawkins) Shirley died Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Childress, Texas. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019, at Quanah Memorial Park with Rev. David Smith officiating.

Joyce Arlene Dawkins was born March 12, 1926 to Byrde and John Dawkins in DeLeon, Texas. She married J.B. Shirley on December 16, 1963 in Wichita Falls.  Joyce worked as a Home Health Aide for 19 years in Quanah.

Joyce is survived by a son, Bobby Shahan, of Quanah, Texas; three grandchildren, Brennon Shae Bryer, Siobhan Shahan, Zebulon Shahan; and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Shahan, November 19, 1961; her second husband, J.B. Shirley, December 28, 2010; 2 sons, Gary Shahan and Jimmy Shahan; a daughter, Adah Marie Bryer; granddaughter, Vanah Marie Brooks; her mother and father; 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 28 ^th at the funeral home.
