Katherine Sue Newsom, 70, of Quanah, passed away Sunday evening, October 17, 2021 in
Wichita Falls. A funeral service is planned for 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Dr. David Smith will officiate and interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 20 ^th at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Katherine Sue Wilson was born September 9, 1951 in Pryor, Oklahoma, and was the daughter of George and Melinda (Hinkle) Wood. She married Randy Newsom on May 16, 1987 in Quanah.  She loved being a nana and watching her grandkids sports activities. She was also an avid reader. Sue worked as a physical therapy assistant at Wilbarger General Hospital for 33 years.

Survivors include 1 son, Christopher Edward Tyson; 4 grandchildren, Valari Michelle Tyson, Matthew Blaine Tyson, Sawyer Jennings Risinger, Lawson Spencer Risinger; 2 great grandchildren, Carter Joe Tyson, and Chandler Shane Tyson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Keith Newsom; 1 son, Spencer Earl "Joe" Risinger; 1 daughter, Rachel Michelle Risinger; her parents; 2 brothers, Daryl Lee Wilson and Earl Wilson; and sister, Debbie Wilson Medina.
