Larry Gale
Browder
Aug 24, 1942 — Jun 7, 2025
Quanah
Larry Gale Browder, age 82, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10th at the Church of Christ in Quanah, with interment to follow at Crowell Cemetery.
Larry was born August 24, 1942, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to R.B. and LaVada Gebhardt Browder. He graduated from Quanah High School in 1961 and married Yvonne Wheeler on November 20, 1963. In their early married life, Larry and Yvonne loved to square dance. He worked for Georgia Pacific for 39 years and served faithfully as a deacon at the Church of Christ in Quanah.
Larry loved the outdoors—fishing, hunting, spending time on the farm, and mowing on his zero-turn mowers. After retirement, his life centered around trapping wild hogs, which became his full-time passion. He also cherished his dog, Kate, and found great joy in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Browder of Quanah; son, John Calvin Browder and Vickie of Quanah; grandson, Stephen Clay Browder of Quanah; granddaughter, Shelby McDonald and Shelby of Amarillo; and great-grandchildren: Hunter Clay Browder, Brantley Fisher Browder, Raelynn Cameron, Alice McDonald, Isaac Sult, Keely Florez, Kohen Florez, and Korbin Florez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duane and Gary Browder; and sister-in-law, Jeanette Browder.
