LaVerne Ann Fitzpatrick-McQueen of Amarillo, Texas, age 73, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 after a brief battle with Covid-19.

Born on March 25, 1947 in Quanah, Texas to the late Jessie and Dorothy Fitzpatrick, she graduated from Quanah High School in 1963 and met her soon to be husband, James Larry Adcock that same year. They relocated to Lansing, Michigan, by way of a brief stop in Altus, Oklahoma. Ann dedicated her life to being an extraordinary mother; lovingly raising her family. She enjoyed being a supportive wife, room mother, and a troop leader for her daughters Brownie and Girl Scout troops. After getting the girls off to school she would enjoy daily morning coffee with the neighborhood moms, always looking forward to that time with her great Lansing, MI friends. Ann loved to paint, draw, and play board games with her daughters and cherished game nights with neighbors as well. She always made a point of traveling to Amarillo and her hometown of Quanah at least twice a year to spend quality time with her Texas family and friends. Ann moved back to Amarillo in 1984 and reconnected to lifelong relationships with friends and family. She unselfishly gave of herself as a dedicated and loving caregiver to her husband, her mother, and stepfather - never once asking for anything from anyone else.

Ann was predeceased by her parents Jessie Fitzpatrick and Dorothy Fitzpatrick Huseman, husband Eugene Buck McQueen, brother Kenneth Fitzpatrick, and grandson Andrew Garcia. She is survived by daughters Judy (Jeff) Pollard of Fredericksburg, VA, Angela (Raymond) Lopez of St. John's, MI, sisters Karen Fitzpatrick McCarl, of Amarillo, and Ineze Jenkins, of Dumas, brother Larry Don Fitzpatrick of Amarillo, grandsons, James Lucas and Jesse Adcock, and granddaughter, Lauren Pollard-Stevenson (Chris Stevenson), and two great grandsons.

Ann was a beautiful soul who asked for nothing and gave so much of herself to everyone she loved. She was a true listener, friend and the best mother one could ever hope for. We will miss her profoundly every day.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given in her name to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Notes can be sent to the Smith Funeral Home 210 W 3 ^rd St, Quanah, TX 79252. Services will be held on Friday February 12, at 11am at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.  Due to health and safety concerns the family is requesting a masked private service for immediate family only.
