Luis Gomez Bernal, Sr. passed away February 8, 2026, at his home in Eldorado, Oklahoma. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2026 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Luis was born September 16, 1956, in Beeville, Texas, to Oralio Bernal and Mariana (Gomez) Bernal. He worked for Farmer's Coop in Eldorado, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Luis loved serving his community and was always ready to step in wherever he was needed. A true jack-of-all-trades, there wasn't much he couldn't fix or figure out. He loved to cowboy and had an adventurous, daredevil spirit that kept life exciting. He lived boldly, worked hard, and cared deeply for those around him.

He is survived by his children, Luis Bernal, Jr. and Shannon Martin of Quanah, Rosemary Bernal of Mangum, Oklahoma, and Rocky Bernal of Quanah; his grandchildren, Logan Bernal, Creed Bernal, Bethany Bernal, Destiny Villyard, Andelina Villyard, and Stacy Bernal; and his siblings, Mary James and husband Mark, Lupe Turvaville and husband Marcus, Gracie Lewis and husband Rick, Adam Bernal and wife Pia, and Tony Bernal and wife Martha.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oralio Bernal, Sr. and brother, Oralio Bernal, Jr.
