Margie Faye Prater, 87, died Monday morning, February 27th, 2017, in Plano, Texas.

Services will be held on Friday, March 3 ^rd , 2017, 11:00 a.m., at the First Christian Church in Quanah, with Rev. Wayne Hollinshead officiating.  Interment will follow, at Quanah Memorial Park, under direction of Smith Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held Thursday evening, March 2 ^nd , from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home.

Margie was born June 18, 1929, in Quanah, to B.E. "Ernest" and Z.O. (White) Logan. She married Isaac Austin "Junior" Prater, Jr., on August 2, 1946.  To this union, was born 3 sons:  Jim, Rick, and Phillip. She was preceded by Mr. Prater on March 13, 1996.

She was a longtime resident of Quanah and a member of the First Christian Church, holding various offices there. She worked at Pips 7 Day Market, the Quanah Cap Factory and was an administrator at Quanah Oil Company.  Margie loved to travel, and enjoyed visiting with friends and family.

She is survived by sons – Jim Prater of Carrolton, Texas, Rick Prater of Flower Mound, Texas, and Phillip Prater of Grovetown, Georgia; 5 grandchildren – Josh Prater, Ashlee Gage, Heather Prater, Hannah Prater, Haley Schiavone; 3 great-grandchildren; a lot of nieces and nephews; and extended family – Gerald and Ladonna Riley, and Ben and Christie Riley.
