Mary Louise Mackoy Bennett, born October 8, 1928, in Quanah, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Decatur, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Quanah, Texas, with inurnment following at Quanah Memorial Park.

Mary was born on October 8, 1928 in Quanah, Texas to Philip and Tressa Mackoy. Throughout her life, she was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She married James Oscar Bennett in Quanah on December 16, 1947. Mary and James raised two sons, James Stephen Bennett, and Tracy Mackoy Bennett. After moving to Fort Worth, Mary became the owner/operator of Mary Bennett Electrolysis and spent many years practicing as an electrologist.

Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She touched countless lives with her love and guidance by caring for family members as well as numerous friends. Her unwavering love is cherished by those family members and friends who benefitted from her selfless devotion.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, John Philip Mackoy and Tressa Smith Mackoy; her brother, Tom Mackoy and his wife, Barbara; her daughter-in-law, Elaine Bennett; and her grandson, Chase Bennett.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Steve and wife Cathy of Decatur; her son, Tracy Bennett of Pecos, New Mexico; her grandchildren, Chance Bennett of Denton; Lacy Bennett Koontz and husband Billy of New York City; Travis Bennett of Oakland, California; and Taylor Bennett of Jacksonville, FL; her great-grandson, Dylan Bennett; and Chase's wife, Stevi Bennett of Oak Point. Mary also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members who will carry her precious memory in their hearts.
