Melvena Marie Anders, a cherished homemaker and devoted family caretaker, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Born on February 12, 1947, in Quanah, Texas, Melvena was the beloved daughter of Roy and Margarite (Collins) Estill. 

On December 31, 1964, Melvena united in marriage with Charles Lee Anders in Dallas, Texas. Together, they nurtured a loving family, raising two sons and a daughter in their hometown of Quanah. Charles preceded her in death on June 9, 2012, leaving behind a legacy of shared memories and love.

Known affectionately as “Vena,” Melvena embraced her role as a homemaker with pride, finding joy and purpose in caring for her family. Her commitment extended beyond her immediate family; she was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God, where her presence touched many lives through her kindness and faith.

Melvena is survived by her two sons, Charles Wesley Anders and Danny Dwayne Anders, both of Waurika, Oklahoma, and her daughter, Vickie Gail Browder of Quanah. She is also survived by her sister, Veta Anders of Quinlan, Texas. Her legacy continues through her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, along with numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren who hold her memory close in their hearts.

Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, located at 210 W 3rd St, Quanah, TX 79252. A funeral service celebrating Melvena’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the First Assembly of God, 807 Dubose Street, Quanah, TX 79252. Following the service, interment will take place at Quanah Memorial Park.

Melvena Marie Anders’ life was one of devotion to family, faith, and community. Her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
