Mike "Yankee" Smith, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 in Wichita Falls. A graveside service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 21 ^st at the Goodlett Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Elder officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home.

Michael John Smith was born August 8, 1944 in Celina, Ohio to the late Clyde Delbert Smith and Thelma L. Houtz Smith. He married Delores Poole in Manhattan, Kansas on May 23, 1970. Together they raised two daughters. Yankee was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam for 18 months. After being discharged, he became a self-employed long-haul truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Smith of Quanah; 2 daughters, Shawn Smith of Abilene, Texas and Megan Smith of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and 1 grandson, Ethan Smith.
