Mike Woods, 74, passed away Thursday, October 29 ^th at his home in Quanah. A graveside service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Quanah Memorial Park cemetery. The service will be officiated by Rev. Monte Lumpkin, Dr. David Smith, and Ridley Gibson.

Michael Earl Woods was born to Thomas Edward and Marguerite Petty Woods on September 27, 1946, in Childress, Texas. He had been a resident of Hardeman County since 1951.  He married Bertha O'Neal on June 4, 1970, in Quanah, and together they raised two children.  Mike was a carpenter by trade, and a junkaholic who enjoyed collecting barbed wire, door knobs, and building bird houses. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, and participated with his children in 4-H, Sports, FFA, and the Quanah Riding Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Woods of Quanah; son, Levi, and wife, Jackie Woods of Quanah;  daughter, Joycelyn, and husband, Marcus Smith of Quanah; 4 grandchildren, Montana, Autumn, Aspen, and Merik.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Woods.

It was Mike's wish that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Quanah Project Show or the Quanah Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas lights.
