Quanah
Mike Hale, beloved Quanah ISD teacher, coach, and principal, died Thursday afternoon, June 29, 2017 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was 63.
Charles Michael Hale was born December 16, 1953 to Charles Ray and JoAnn (Link) Hale in Quanah, Texas. He married Robbie Justice, in Chillicothe, Texas, on December 20, 1975. To that union was born a daughter, Kelsey.
Mike was a lifelong Quanah resident and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was on the Board of Regents of T.M.S.C.A., coached UIL Math, and a member of the Texas Association of High School Basketball. In addition to his other occupations, he was a farmer.
Services will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017, 2:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Quanah. Rev. Larry Holder will officiate. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 1, 2017.
He is survived by wife, Robbie, of the home; daughter, Kelsey Sears, and husband, Andrew, of Plano, Texas; mother, JoAnn Hale, of Quanah; and a niece, Megan Williams, of Midlothian, Texas.
Preceding him in death, was his father Charles Ray Hale; sister, Mary Jo Williams; and brother-in-law, Garry B. Williams.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 397, Quanah, TX 79252; Quanah Alumni Association, P.O. Box 13, Quanah, Texas 79252; or the Mike Hale Scholarship Fund at First Capital Bank in Quanah.
