Myrtle Link passed away Wednesday evening, July 12, 2023 in Vernon, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 17th at First Assembly of God in Quanah. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 Sunday evening at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Myrtle Vernell Gilbert was born January 10, 1945 in Bonham, Texas to L.N. Gilbert and Velma Norris Gilbert. She married Bobby Gene Link January 10, 1963. Together they raised two children. She worked several years at 7 Day Supermarket, and as a nanny for several doctor's families. She was a member of First Assembly of God church in Quanah.

Survivors include her son, Presley Gene Link and wife, Danna Rachelle of New Home, Texas; daughter, Laura Coker and husband, Ricky of Vernon; 3 sisters, Jan Malone of Bennington, Oklahoma, Brenda Vanderburg of Highland Village, Texas, and Wanda Woodard of Ennis, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Heath Link, Dylan Haseloff and wife, Scarlett, Ashton Link, Cheyenne Howard and husband, Randal, and Zane Coker. She was preceded in death  by her husband, Bobby, in 2019.
