Napoleon "Napo" Guzman, 79, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Crowell, Texas.

A Rosary with visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Quanah.

Napo was born on May 3, 1945, in Muzquiz, Mexico, to Phillipe Guzman and Sara De La Rosa. In 1970, he married Rosie Olivarez, and together they built a loving home, raising their three children in Quanah. One of Napo's proudest moments was becoming an American citizen on June 26, 1999.

A hardworking man, Napo dedicated his career to Georgia Pacific, where he operated heavy machinery until his retirement. Earlier in life, Napo worked as a cowboy and for S&W Oilfield Service. Even in retirement, he remained active, often tending to his home and yard with care and pride. He was a devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a man of faith.

Napo is survived by his wife, Rosie Guzman of Quanah; his children, Mark Guzman of Florida, Linda Walker and her partner Steven Hendrix of Eldorado, Oklahoma, and Elizabeth Thornton and her husband James of Austin; his grandchildren, Anthony Walker and wife Makayla, Calee Walker, Evan Walker, and Sophia Guzman; and his great-grandchildren, Lily Walker, Wyatt Walker, Barrett Walker, and Dylan Wilson; and siblings, Isidro, Felipe, Pepe Guzman, Cheta, Berta, Beatrice, Maria Jesus, Irene, and Nacha Guzman.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Goyo, and a sister, Bennita.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or St. Mary Catholic Church Altar Society in Quanah.

Napo will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his devotion to family, and his kind and generous spirit.
