Opal Marjorie Buchanan Osborne, 98, passed from this life to life eternal on Friday October 23, 2020 in Vernon, TX. Opal was the first child of the late William A Buchanan and Linnie Barnett Buchanan. She married Willie Burke Osborne January 23, 1936 in Quanah, TX. He preceded her in death February 8, 1977. Opal moved from Goodlett to Quanah at the age of 12, where she resided until 2008, when she moved to Vernon. She retired from Hardeman County Hospital in 1984, where she worked in Dietary. To know "Grannie Opal" was to love her. She was quiet and unassuming but could make her presence known if need be. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and faithfully served Him. She was a daughter, wife, sister, mother, grannie, and friend. Most importantly, she was a child of the living God.

Opal is survived by son Gary (Lesa) Osborne of Robstown, TX, daughters Jo (Paul) Nelson of Mansfield, TX, and Ann Harp of Vernon, TX, brothers Roy Hall and Bill Hall, sister Nelda Swatzell. She had 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, numerous great greats, nieces, nephews, and a cherished friend and caregiver, Sandy Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jean Albertson, sons Willie Burke Osborne Jr. and Michael Osborne, great grandson Jesse Albertson, brothers Jack Buchanan and Bob Hall, and sisters Thelma Hall and Linda Lyles.

Services celebrating and honoring her life will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2020 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Quanah Memorial Park under direction of Smith Funeral Home.  Services officiated by Jeremy Walters.
