Obituary

Richard Naron passed away early Friday morning, May 8th, 2026, in Crowell. A graveside service is planned for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12th at Quanah Memorial Park cemetery.

Richard was a man of many talents — a cowboy and horseman, an entrepreneur, and a skilled craftsman whose work and spirit left their mark across the region.

His career began in the oil field industry, where he built a reputation for his welding and dozer work. In time, his drive and ingenuity led him to launch his own transport trucking company. For more than 35 years, Richard owned and operated a successful construction business, building countless steel structures for families and businesses throughout this area and beyond. He was also the original owner of Quanah Service Center.

In the later years of his career, Richard took his expertise to the power line industry, a role that carried him as far as Canada. A passionate outdoorsman, he was also an avid hunter and for a time worked as an outfitter, sharing his love of the land with others.

Richard cherished the family farm along the Pease River, where he spent his childhood and later raised his own family. He loved to tell stories of those early years and to watch his children and grandchildren create memories of their own in the same place. Life on the river brought him peace — whether fishing, horseback riding, checking cattle, or simply wading in the cool water with loved ones.

Above all, Richard was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, and friend. His work ethic, humor, and love for his family and the land will be remembered by all who knew him.
