Rita Hinsley passed away Tuesday evening, July 30, 2024 in Crowell. Visitation will be held 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3rd at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Rita Charlene Elder was born July 24, 1944 in Slayton, Texas to Charlie and Alleta (Jenkins) Elder. She worked at Ken's Restaurant as a waitress for 20 years; was janitor at the high school for approximately 10 years; and also worked at the courthouse. She was always a hard worker. Rita was a member of Bethel Baptist in Quanah.

Survivors include her children: Ricky Hinsley and Marlene of Pinetop Lakeside, Arizona, Randy Hinsley and Sara or Quanah; grandchildren: Traci Luebke and Jake, Cameron and Amy Foster, Madison Hinsley, Makenzie Hinsley, Makayla Hinsley, Robert Hinsley, Caylon Hinsley, Kylie Hinsley, Haylie Hinsley, Lilly Hinsley, Tyler Hinsley and Keithen Hinsley; 5 great grandchildren; and brother, Tommy Elder of Quanah.

She was preceded in death by three siblings, Frankie Elder, Billy Elder, and Emylene Brown.
