Rita Rodriguez, 49, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 26, 2021 in Oklahoma City. A funeral service is planned for 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2022 at First Baptist Church.  Deacon Shawn Reinhardt will officiate. Interment will follow in Quanah Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, January 2 ^nd at Smith Funeral Home.

Rita Ann Rodriguez was born May 26, 1972 in Lockney, Texas to Johnny Benitez Rodriguez and Frances Estrada Rodriguez. She graduated from Quanah High School in 1990.  Rita was employed full time as a secretary with Quanah Housing Authority and worked part time as a dispatcher for Hardeman County Sheriff's Office.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Lopez of Quanah; daughter, Ariana Cardenas of Quanah; 1 brother, Johnny Rodriguez, Jr. of Vernon; 1 sister, Marie Trones of Quanah; and 2 grandchildren, Kooper and Hudson. Rita was preceded by her parents.
